Parent & Child
The WCS Parent and Child programs provide an opportunity for infants and young children to experience a nurturing, protective learning environment full of warm, flowing colours and natural objects that invite imagination and interaction through play. Parents attend with their children.
"Babes in Arms": Infants Up to 12 Months of Age
"Babes in Arms" offers babies and their accompanying parent a safe and warm social setting in which to interact with each other as well as other parents and infants. Under the auspices of an early childhood educator, infants will be exposed to developmentally appropriate experiences, including simple songs and verses parents can share with their child. Adults will also have the opportunity to enhance their observation skills of their own child’s development and be given an informal introduction to Waldorf-inspired education.
Parent & Child: 12 Months to 4 Years
Children play with others their age with the security and comfort of a trusted adult nearby. Parents discuss parenting issues and explore the Waldorf-inspired approach to raising young children. An experienced facilitator, well versed in the Waldorf-inspired approach to raising children, leads the class. She is attentive to the needs of both children and parents.
